Queen’s Award Given To Droylsden Youth Centre
Tuesday 7th June 2016 @ 10:15 by Mark Phillip

Droylsden Youth Centre has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

This unique UK national honour was created by Her Majesty to mark the Golden Jubilee in 2002 and to recognise the outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups of volunteers.

It has an equivalent status for voluntary groups as the MBE has for individuals.

Droylsden Youth Centre is the proud home of Droylsden Juniors Football Club and Droylsden Amateur Boxing Club.

Both have been heavily rewarded in the past for their outstanding service to the community.

An in-depth article on the award will be featured in next week’s Tameside Reporter.

An interview with representatives will also be featured on the Tameside Radio Friday night Sport Show. (6-7pm)
