A man was assaulted by two assailants in an early-morning attack in Glossop last weekend.

Sometime between 4am and 4.30am yesterday (Sunday, January 8), a 32-year-old man was walking to work along North Road when he was approached by two men who demanded his hat.

When he refused, one of the men lashed out at him and he felt a pain in his abdomen. The men ran off and the victim realised he had a small puncture wound to the abdomen.

Police are desperate to trace the two men – who are described as white, aged between 18 and 20, slim, and wearing dark quilted coats and dark trousers.

Anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information is urged to call DC Danielle Podam on 101, quoting reference 17000009734.
