Two people are vying to represent Glossopdale on the council of governors of Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

In contention are former High Peak Borough Council member Chris Webster, who has been a community governor for three years, and Dr Michael Graham Perry, a businessman who, like Mr Webster, lives in the Old Glossop area.

Voting forms listing information about both the contenders and statements written by them on their reasons for seeking office have been given to all the Trust members.

Votes must be in by 5pm on Monday, March 20.

In a letter to voters, trust chairman Paul Connellan says the council of governors is vital to the trust as it is consulted on plans for changes to the way local health services are delivered.

It is also responsible for appointing the Trust chair and non-executive directors, and the appointment of the chief executive.

The governors also form a vital link to the communities the Trust serves.
