A Glossop based agency has won a prestigious north of England marketing award for the second year running.

FIG, which provides an integrated range of in-house creative, digital and PR services, has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Northern Awards agency prize.

As well as acknowledging its growth, the judges recognised FIG’s “ongoing and sustained commitment to delivering best practice, and creative and innovative approach to marketing for its clients.”

FIG, who won the CIM’s large agency award in 2016, beat off stiff competition from a selection of other agencies this year to scoop the accolade – much to the delight of managing director Helen Duncan.

Helen, who attended the awards ceremony, which was hosted by Andy Crane, in Manchester, said: “We are delighted to have won the agency prize for the second year in a row. The CIM is our industry benchmark and this is a great accolade for the team.

“We are fortunate enough to work in partnership with some outstanding clients, who allow us so many opportunities to deliver outstanding results for them.”

Now in their fourth year, the CIM awards celebrate the insight, creativity and success of the northern marketing industry, the outstanding campaigns and the talent from across the region.

Charlie Nettle, chair of CIM North East, who judged the category in which FIG won the award, said: “With comments from customers testifying to FIG being ‘a crucial part of their team that they trust implicitly’, this is undoubtedly a business that has a great story to tell, but I also believe it’s got the makings of a business that can achieve even greater things in the future.”

Ranked among Prolific North’s 2017 Top 50 PR agencies, FIG works with companies and public sector organisations across the North West and East Midlands, with particular expertise in the manufacturing, food, education, traffic, leisure and charity sectors.

This year, the agency – based on High Street West in Glossop – has won a number of new retained Marketing Partners, including Stockport’s Clingfoil, the North West’s largest independent distributor of protective packaging materials and machinery, and Macclesfield-based Fastrak retail solutions.
