Glossop North End will face Workington AFC at home in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

The Hillmen will take on the Evo-Stik Premier Division outfit at Surrey Street on Saturday, November 25, after the draw was made at Wembley Stadium on Monday.

It will be the third successive round that Paul Phillips and Steve Halford’s side will play at home in the competition.

Workington, who were in the National League North up until the 2013-14 season, have reached the play-offs in each of the last three seasons in the seventh tier.

After a sluggish start to the season, the Cumbrian side – managed by David Hewson – have improved in recent times and are in great form at the moment, having lost just one of their last 13 games in all competitions.

One of their biggest supporters is former Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton.

It will be the third time that Glossop have played Workington in the FA Trophy, with North End winning 1-0 in a replay in 1986 before Workington won 3-0 at Surrey Street in April 1999.

Meanwhile, North End have advanced to this stage of the competition for the first time since being promoted in 2014-15.

The Hillmen booked their place in the hat with a thrilling 4-3 win over Evo-Stik First Division South outfit Leek Town at Surrey Street last Saturday.

They have also beaten Evo-Stik Premier Division side Matlock Town 3-2 at home and fellow eighth-tier side Tadcaster Albion 2-0 away from home in the competition.

Glossop face Tadcaster again in their next league game on Saturday (November 18) at Surrey Street.

There will be 40 ties taking place, with the winners receiving £5,000 in prize money from the Football Association, as National League North and South sides enter the competition, including holders York City.
