Hadfield Methodist Church’s annual ‘Action for Children’ carol service is one of the oldest of its kind in the country.

It’s at 2:30pm on Sunday, December 17, at the Station Road church and everyone is invited.

It’s said to be the longest continuously run carol service in the country, in support of the ‘National Children’s Home’.

Member Wyn Field said: “Hadfield Methodist Church was doing it for the Children’s Home in the 1890s when it was in Bank Street.”

The League of Light boxes will be opened and added to the day’s collection.

There will be mince pies, tea and coffee after the service.
