A Hadfield nursery is being transformed into a Christmas market this weekend, in a bid to collect presents for children living in poverty.

Little Stars Private Day Nursery and Pre-School on Hadfield Road is holding the free festive fun day on Saturday (December 9), with local business stalls, refreshments and a Santa’s Grotto, from 12pm to 2:30pm.

Santa, a glitter artist, a face painter and festive craft stalls will all be in attendance, promising fun for children and grown-ups alike.

It’s the perfect chance to get some Christmas shopping done too, with scented candles and bath bombs from Scentsations, decorations from Brombley Crafts and treats from Lorraine’s Sweet Trees and Wreathes to name a few.

Staff at Little Stars Nursery – wish is an official Cash for Kids Drop-off Point – are inviting local people to bring along unwrapped presents for young people under the age of 18.

Cash for Kids is a charity that collects presents for UK children who may not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas.

The charity will be picking the gifts up on Friday, December 15, to make sure children living in poverty in and around Greater Manchester receive their presents in time for Christmas Day.

Little Stars Nursery Manager Michelle Mathews said: “Cash for Kids is an amazing charity that makes it so easy for people to help local children living in poverty have a happier Christmas.

“If anyone would like to help us spread some festive cheer, we’d really appreciate it if they could pop in on Saturday and leave an unwrapped gift at the official collection point.

“There’ll be plenty of local stalls to buy gifts from and lots for children to do, including meeting Santa, who has taken time out of his busy schedule to help us collect as many presents as possible!”

The Little Stars Christmas Market is free to attend and everyone is invited. Anyone wishing to go along for some festive fun can find the nursery at 124 Hadfield Road, Hadfield, Glossop, SK13 2DR.
