Deborah Casulli admits being ‘blown away’ when she met Lisa Ashton and heard about the Winnie Mabaso Foundation she had set up in South Africa.

Deborah was so inspired she began supporting the charity, then joined Lisa from Glossop’s team, helping change the lives of adults and children in one of the poorest areas of Johannesburg.

Back home in Glossop, she said: “Since witnessing this different world I want to raise awareness of this amazing charity based on our doorstep in Glossop.”

Deborah is also raising money for the foundation and has come up with a Valentine’s Charity Night, she is calling ‘Give a Little Mabasolove’.

It’s at Glossop Cricket Club, North Road, on Friday, February 16, from 7.30pm to midnight.

Admission is by ticket only, which cost £20 and includes a reception drink, a buffet, two lots of live music from Nicole Halton and The Fay Brothers and a disco.

There’s also a raffle and an auction, with both event and raffle tickets on sale at Bay Tree Books, High Street West, Glossop and by calling Debbie on 079905  06849.

There are some great prizes to be won in the raffle, including return flights to New York and a week’s accommodation in Tuscany.
