Former students of what is now known as Glossopdale School, have two invitations they can’t afford to ignore.

This Saturday (June 23) there’s a chance to have a look around the Glossop and Talbot Road sites between 10.15am and 1pm.

It will be the last occasion to remember past school days and bid a fond farewell to the old sites before they close permanently next month.

So past pupils are being invited to drop in on Saturday morning and take a trip down memory lane.

The second ‘must attend occasion’ is on Friday, June 29, when Hall 1 of the Talbot Road site will hold an ‘old-style school disco.’

Again it’s an opportunity to say a fond farewell to the school and celebrate the memories made at the Talbot Road site by holding a school disco.

The school issued a statement saying: “We very much want this event to embrace the community that the school building has served over the years and make it a spectacular send-off.”

It’s a chance to have one last dance in the school hall.

Admissions are for over 21s only and tickets are needed.

Call the school on 01457 862336 for more details on the event.
