Ruth George has been reflecting on her first 12 months as High Peak’s Labour MP after sensationally over-turning a ¬†huge Conservative majority to defeat Tory candidate Andrew Bingham in the June 2017 General Election.
It’s been a year in which Mrs George has been vigorously campaigning on local concerns and taking part in House of Commons debates on national issues.
Tune into tonight’s Reporter Show on Tameside Radio 103.6FM at 7pm (Thursday, July 5) when Ruth talks to our Glossop Chronicle editor David Jones about the highlights of the year – and some of her major campaigns.
Among numerous topics she discusses cuts at Glossop Fire Station and her hopes that it will remain manned 24-hours a day by professional firefighters.
She will also be talking about her hopes that Shire Hill Hospital can be saved and is still hopeful that it can be kept for the people of Glossop.
