Police appeal after fatal collision in Hadfield

An 72-year-old man has died after being involved in a collision with a Land Rover which was towing a caravan in Hadfield.

The tragedy happened on Tuesday morning on Graphite Way which leads to the Rossington Industrial Park, off Woolley Bridge Road.

Officers were called to the scene just after 9am and closed the road for much of the day as they carried out investigations.

Police say the man had suffered serious injuries in the collision and he was initially taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary and then transferred to Salford Royal Hospital for specialist treatment. Sadly, despite the efforts of doctors he passed away.

Yesterday police named the man as Neville McGraw of Tavern Road, Glossop.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.

They would particularly like to talk to anyone who may have any dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch.
