The under 11 girls played another game against Whaley Bridge, with Molly bringing her scoring boots again. Helen and new girl Lily also got on the scoresheet. The team going forward were always looking to make a pass and were strong in defence. Lily was awarded the Girl of the Game.

The Under 11 Greys started on the front foot with open attacking football being played in a 10 minute spell. Stalybridge came back into it, but Glossop kept playing with the same attacking intent and finished the game strongly. Goals came from Tom (2). Luke and Cheesy also scored a goal each.

Well done to the Under 12 Whites who played in their League Cup final at the weekend. After falling behind to a breakaway goal early on in the game the Glossop side showed great team spirit to take the lead only to concede again on the stroke of half-time. The second half started with Glossop on the front foot but once again they conceded to a breakaway goal. Glossop then took a deserved 4-3 lead, then with the last kick of the game they conceded from a corner. The game then went to penalties with the Glossop side holding their nerve the better and winning 3-1. Goals in open play came from Finn Jackson, Sean, Callum and Tom. Penalties were scored by Tom, Callum and Jack, with a special mention to Kieran for saving one. There wasn’t a MOTM as everyone deserved to win for a great team performance especially in the second half.

There was also silverware for another Glossop side with the Under 14 Futsal group winning the Astley sports futsal league in it’s first season.
