Trafford 2-0 Glossop North End

The game started off very slow with both teams appearing nervous with the home side making several passes out of play.

The first chance of the game signaled the first goal after 21 minutes. Szymon Czubik was fouled on half way line, however the referee bizarrely didn’t blow his whistle and the ball was headed into Glossop’s half with Trafford on the break, Darius Palma was able to beat Matty Holmes.

Just 10 minutes later and Trafford had a second. Adam Farrell played a low ball across goal which at first was cleared, however Glossop’s clearance fell to Jack Dorney who found the back of the net with a neat attempt from just outside the penalty area.

Just before half time, Jack Tuohy crossed from the right hand side, players scrambled to attack the ball with Adam Latham reaching the ball first, his attempt at goal was cleared off the line.

Glossop made a double change at half time, Markell Foulds and Latham were replaced by debutant George Danaher and Fransesco Frangillo.

The Hillmen started the second half on the attack, they had three corners in succession but couldn’t turn either delivery towards goal.

Whilst searching for a goal, Glossop had to make sure they didn’t concede another. Player of the Month Matty Holmes made a good strong stop to deny Palma a second goal.

Czubik had a header glance narrowly wide whilst Tuohy was desperately unlucky as he curled a wonderful shot that cannoned off the cross bar. You had the feeling it wasn’t going to be Glossop’s day.

Glossop had been much better for the second half, creating several decent chances. None could be converted and Trafford ended up 2-0 winners.
